TNT Tropang Giga edges Magnolia 80-79 in PBA quarterfinals

TNT Tropang Giga narrowly defeated Magnolia Hotshots with a score of 80-79 in their PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals matchup on Saturday, securing a sudden-death Game 2 and advancing to the semifinals.

Kelly Williams sealed the victory for TNT with crucial free throws in the final seconds after being fouled by Rafi Reavis while going for a putback.

Despite trailing by as much as 14 points early in the game, TNT staged another comeback to take a one-point lead late in the fourth quarter and forced Magnolia into a turnover on their last possession.

Coach Chot Reyes praised his team's resilience in overcoming challenges such as player injuries, highlighting Brian Heruela’s absence and Calvin Oftana playing through an ankle sprain.

With this win, TNT remains alive in its pursuit of a grand slam feat in the PBA season as they will face either NLEX or Rain or Shine in a best-of-seven series starting on Wednesday.
