TNT Tropang Giga advances to PBA Governors' Cup finals

TNT Tropang Giga will return to face Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Governors' Cup finals after overcoming challenges during the 2023-2024 season.

Despite being eliminated in the quarterfinals of both the Commissioner's Cup and Philippine Cup, TNT secured eight out of ten games to top Group A this year.

Coach Chot Reyes emphasized the importance of having all key players healthy for the upcoming best-of-seven title showdown against Barangay Ginebra starting on Sunday at Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

TNT's success is attributed to import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and a talented local crew including new addition Rey Nambatac, RR Pogoy, Calvin Oftana, Poy Erram, Jayson Castro, Kelly Williams, Kim Aurin, Glenn Khobuntin, and Henry Galinato.

Injuries were a significant hurdle last season, with TNT finishing eighth in the Commissioner's Cup and losing Mikey Williams due to contract disputes, but this year they aim to repeat as champions.

Defending champion Tropang Giga will face off against Barangay Ginebra again, with elite imports Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Justin Brownlee renewing their rivalry from last year’s finals.

Revered coaches Tim Cone and Chot Reyes also rekindle their rivalry as they face off in a title series for the first time in 12 years.
