Tim Cone, Chot Reyes face off in PBA Finals rematch

Tim Cone and Chot Reyes will face off once again as coaches in the PBA Governors' Cup Finals between Barangay Ginebra and TNT for the first time in 12 years.

Cone expressed familiarity with Reyes's coaching style after securing a spot for his team in the finals against TNT following Game 6 of their semifinal series on Sunday.

Reyes emphasized during Thursday's press conference that he focuses solely on the present, noting that past statistics and trends do not matter to him.

The title duel features a rematch of last year's finals where TNT dethroned Ginebra in six games with Rondae Hollis-Jefferson as Best Import winner.

Both coaches have a tied record of three wins each in their previous six championship matchups, with this Finals offering another opportunity for both teams to secure a victory.

Cone and Reyes meet in the finals for the seventh time since 1991 when they coached against each other for the first time as Purefoods beat Cone's Alaska in the 1994 Commissioner's Cup.
