Three Luzon dams releasing water; Ipo gate open

As of Wednesday afternoon, water levels in most dams nationwide were at normal high levels with no reported spilling operations, but by Saturday morning, three dams in Luzon—Ipo, Ambuklao, and Binga—were releasing water.

Napocor's Dams Management Department officer-in-charge Maria Teresa Serra stated that the Ambuklao and Binga Dam spillway gates remain closed, though Ipo Dam had one gate open at 0.15 meters on Saturday morning.

The current water level in Ambuklao Dam was at 751.76 meters above sea level, slightly below its normal level of 752 meters, while Binga Dam's level was at 573.94 meters (normal 575 meters).

Ipo Dam in Bulacan had one gate open at 0.15 meter on Saturday morning, with a water level near the normal high water level of 101.10 meters.

PAGASA forecasts cloudy skies with scattered rains over Luzon due to the Southwest Monsoon and the trough of Typhoon Yagi (formerly Enteng) that exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday.
