Ambuklao, Binga dams releasing water; Ipo closed

As of Sunday morning, Ambuklao and Binga dams in Benguet province were still releasing water according to PAGASA.

Ambuklao Dam had two gates open at 0.80 meters on Sunday, compared to one gate open at 0.50 meters the previous day.

The reservoir water level (RWL) at Ambuklao Dam decreased slightly from 751.76 meters on Saturday to 751.69 meters on Sunday, nearing its normal high water level (NHWL) of 752 meters.

At Binga Dam, one gate remained open at 0.50 meters, with the RWL increasing slightly from 573.94 meters to 574.67 meters, approaching its NHWL of 575 meters.

In contrast, all gates at Ipo Dam in Bulacan were closed as of Sunday morning, with a current RWL of 100.49 meters and an NHWL of 101.10 meters.

The recent water releases are attributed to the combined effects of Severe Tropical Storm Enteng's trough and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) which brought heavy rains over parts of Luzon last week.
