Scottie Thompson is set to return to Gilas Pilipinas for the second window of the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers this Thursday.

Thompson missed the Olympic Qualifying Tournament due to recurring back issues but is now healthy and ready to play against New Zealand at Mall of Asia Arena.

Coach Tim Cone emphasized Thompson's importance, noting his defensive capabilities and energy on the court, which allows players like Chris Newsome and Dwight Ramos to return to their natural positions.

With Thompson's presence, Gilas Pilipinas aims to maintain its strong performance from the first window where they led in points per game (100), field goal percentage (51%), and assists per night (31.5).

Gilas Pilipinas will face New Zealand, who are also unbeaten, and a Hong Kong team in their upcoming matches as part of their preparations for the main tournament scheduled for August 2025 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
