Taal Volcano's alert level may drop to 1 in two weeks

Taal Volcano's alert status may be downgraded to level 1 in two weeks if activity continues to decrease.

Phivolcs reported 25 volcanic quakes and plume emissions of 50-100 meters on Thursday, a decline from previous days.

On Wednesday, Phivolcs recorded 30 volcanic quakes, weak plume emission, and sulfur dioxide levels below instrumental detection.

For the third consecutive day, Taal's activity declined with 41 volcanic quakes and plumes measuring 50-100 meters tall on Tuesday.

Monday saw fewer volcanic quakes (65) and lower plume emissions (100-200 meters), indicating a continued decrease in activity since February 14.
