Taal Volcano remains at Alert Level 2, weak activity continues

Weak volcanic activity continues at Taal Volcano, with Phivolcs maintaining Alert Level 2 for the 11th day.

On Monday, only 32 volcanic quakes were recorded compared to 69 the previous day, and weak plume emissions of 50-100 meters have been observed.

Phivolcs recommends prohibiting entry into Taal Volcano Island and advises local governments to assess previously evacuated areas for damages and road accessibilities.

Alert Level 2 will be lowered to Alert Level 1 if continuous downtrend in volcanic activities is observed for two more weeks.
