Storm Wipha kills 6, displaces over 1.3M

As of Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at least six deaths were confirmed due to Severe Tropical Storm Wipha (formerly Crising), intensified southwest monsoon rains, and a brewing low pressure area.

The fatalities occurred in Northern Mindanao, Mimaropa, Davao, Caraga, with three deaths reported in Northern Mindanao alone.

Over 1.3 million people have been affected across all regions, with around 107,983 individuals seeking shelter in evacuation centers and others displaced.

Persistent rains continue to affect various areas after the storm exited the Philippine landmass on Saturday, causing flooding in over 467 areas including Metro Manila.

Infrastructure damage has escalated to PHP464.3 million, with at least 1,501 houses damaged and 73 infrastructure projects affected.
