FDA: PH vaccines effective vs all variants

All Covid-19 vaccines available in the Philippines are effective and provide protection against all coronavirus variants, including the highly contagious Delta variant, according to FDA Director General Eric Domingo.

Domingo emphasized that while vaccine efficacy may decrease as the virus mutates, vaccines still remain useful in protecting the population.

Data from Pfizer shows high efficacy rates for both the Alpha and Delta variants, with 93% against Alpha and 88% against Delta. AstraZeneca's efficacy is lower at 66% for Alpha and 60% for Delta.
