SMC-PSA honors Olympic, Paralympic athletes from Paris Games

The San Miguel Corporation-Philippine Sportswriters Association (SMC-PSA) Awards Night on January 27 at The Manila Hotel Grand Ballroom will honor Philippine Olympic and Paralympic athletes from the 2024 Paris Games, marking a century of Filipino participation in the Olympics.

Carlos Yulo, who won double gold medals in Paris, will receive the Athlete of the Year award, while Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas will also be honored with major awards.

Representatives from each Olympic team since 1964, including notable figures like Hidilyn Diaz being enshrined into the PSA Hall of Fame, will join current athletes in celebrating a century of Filipino sporting achievements.

The ceremony will feature Paralympians Jerrold Mangliwan, Ernie Gawilan, and Angel Otom alongside Olympians such as EJ Obiena, Lauren Hoffman, Carlo Paalam, Eumir Marcial, Bianca Pagdanganan, Nesthy Petecio, and Aira Villegas.

This event is supported by various organizations including the Philippine Sports Commission, PLDT/Smart, Senator Bong Go, and Januarius Holdings to celebrate Filipino sporting achievements.
