SMC-CPC Awards recognizes football players for first time

For the first time in its history, the San Miguel Corporation-Collegiate Press Corps (SMC-CPC) Awards will recognize football players alongside basketball and volleyball stars.

FEU's Mon Diansuy and Carmela Altiche have been selected as the inaugural CPC UAAP Men's and Women's Football Players of the Year for their outstanding performances in leading FEU to historic championships.

Amir Aningalan from San Beda University has also been named the CPC NCAA Football Player of the Year following his crucial goal that secured San Beda's third consecutive title.

The 2025 SMC-CPC Awards Night, presented by the Philippine Sports Commission and others, will take place on June 30 at the Discovery Suites in Ortigas, Pasig.

Diansuy played a key role as goalkeeper for FEU's men's football team, saving a penalty shot to secure their championship victory against Ateneo.

Altiche contributed significantly to her team's women's division success with crucial goals and assists, earning MVP honors and completing a three-peat of UAAP championships.
