SMC pays PHP 11.67B despite tax amnesty

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) will continue to pay PHP 11.67 billion in tax, concession and contractual payments to support the government's efforts against the coronavirus pandemic.

The company has already paid PHP 8.77 billion and plans to remit the remaining balance before the end of the enhanced community quarantine on May 15.

SMC also committed to granting full-time pay to all its employees, consultants, and contract workers during the ECQ, releasing over PHP 3 billion in compensation with benefits for its workforce.
