DOH-7 reports significant drop in Region 7's active COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) in Region 7 reported a significant drop in active COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, Oct 21, with 87 recoveries bringing the total to 878 from 919 on Monday.

Cebu province accounted for most of the recoveries at 86.2 percent, followed by Cebu City and Mandaue City.

DOH-7 also logged 49 new cases in the region on Tuesday, with a consistent declining trend observed across urban areas from morbidity week 39 to 42.

On Monday, Oct 19, DOH-7 stated that the slight increase in cases was due to delayed reporting by local government units and not cause for alarm.
