Butchoy exits PAR as tropical storm

Tropical depression Butchoy intensified into a tropical storm and exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday night.

PAGASA reported that Butchoy was last spotted 415 kilometers west northwest of Dagupan City, Pangasinan, with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gusts up to 80 kph.

Butchoy made two landfalls in Quezon province on Thursday night and brought intermittent moderate rains during Independence Day protests in Metro Manila.

Occasional gusts associated with the southwest monsoon may still be experienced over northern and central Luzon, as well as parts of southern Luzon and Visayas.
