Shear line, southwesterly wind flow bring rains, Obet forms

The shear line and southwesterly surface wind flow continue to cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas, Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and parts of the Visayas.

Flash floods or landslides are likely due to moderate to heavy rains.

Tropical Depression Obet has developed with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center, located 1,055 km east of extreme northern Luzon.

On Tuesday, a low-pressure area was spotted east of extreme northern Luzon, causing cloudy skies and scattered rain showers in Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

Metro Manila and other parts of the country experienced isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and rough seas were forecast over Northern Luzon.
