Iloilo, Bacolod lift border closure after COVID spike

Iloilo and Bacolod cities lifted their border closures on Wednesday after they were imposed due to rising COVID-19 cases.

The borders were reopened following a meeting of the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) and the Regional Task Force (RTF), where health data was presented.

On Tuesday, both mayors had announced border closures effective from July 22, citing increasing coronavirus cases in their respective areas.

As of Wednesday, ferry trips between Bacolod and Iloilo have resumed with regular operations by fast crafts and roll-on, roll-off vessels.
