Senators welcome Comelec's voter reg extension

Senators welcomed the Commission on Elections (Comelec) decision to extend the voter registration period for the 2022 elections.

Senator Francis Pangilinan expressed gratitude towards Comelec for heeding calls to move the deadline by one month.

Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri noted long queues at registration sites and supported the extension.

On Monday, September 27, the Senate approved on third reading a bill extending voter registration until October 31, with all twelve senators signing off on Senate Bill No. 2408.
