Senate under restricted access after guest tests positive

The Senate premises were placed under restricted access on Thursday after a resource person who attended a hearing last week tested positive for COVID-19.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III clarified that the Senate is not locked down but under restricted access until disinfection is complete.

Sotto ordered the disinfection of the Senate building and stated that committee hearings may resume once it is declared safe, though this will take some time.

Senators Sherwin Gatchalian and Nancy Binay announced they would go on self-quarantine after interacting with the infected person.
