Senate Blue Ribbon probes Duterte's drug war

Senate President Francis 'Chiz' Escudero has designated the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee to lead an investigation into former president Rodrigo Duterte's war on drugs.

The decision is supported by Senators Bong Go and Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa.

Senator Koko Pimentel will likely head the probe as chairman of the Subcommittee on Accountability of Public Officers and Investigations (Blue Ribbon).

Escudero emphasized that hearings should commence while Congress is in recess to avoid delays due to legislative activities when session resumes.

He did not set any parameters for the investigation.
