Gatchalian confident Guo will be arrested in Indonesia

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian expressed confidence on Monday that Alice Guo, the dismissed mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, would be arrested in Indonesia.

Gatchalian said he had spoken with ASEAN ambassadors who informed him that Indonesian enforcement agencies were already on alert for Guo and that it would be difficult for her to leave the country.

Guo is facing charges in the Philippines related to her alleged involvement with illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) activities, including human trafficking and scams.

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) stated that two of Guo's companions - her sister Sheila and Cassandra Li Ong, an authorized representative of a raided POGO hub in Pampanga - were arrested in Indonesia last week and have since been transferred to the Philippines for investigation.

Guo was dismissed as mayor after an investigation by the Office of the Ombudsman found her guilty of grave misconduct, and she is accused of spying for China amid questions about her nationality.
