Bamban mayor allegedly flees Philippines, travels to Southeast Asia

Dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo allegedly left the country without going through Philippine immigration authorities and has been to at least three Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia.

Guo reportedly traveled from Malaysia to Singapore in July before arriving in Indonesia on August 18 via Batam island, according to BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval and PAOCC spokesperson Winston John Casio.

PAOCC is investigating three possible points of exit from the Philippines: the northern-most tip of Luzon, the western-most tip of Luzon, and the Mindanao backdoor exit.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla warned BI personnel who may have aided Guo's departure to come forward with the truth, threatening consequences for those involved.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed displeasure over Guo's reported departure from the country, indicating that 'heads will roll' and those found accountable would be sanctioned.
