Sarno defends SEA Games weightlifting title

Vanessa Sarno, a 19-year-old Filipino weightlifter from Bohol, easily defended her women's 71kg title at the Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia on May 15.

Sarno set new SEA Games records with a total lift of 225kg, surpassing her own record of 208kg from last year.

Despite a strained left knee, Sarno lifted 105kg in snatch and 120kg in clean and jerk, securing the gold medal ahead of Thailand's Thipwara Chontavin with 208kg.
