Sara likely to run for president under Lakas

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is likely to run for president under the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party in the May 2022 elections.

House Majority Leader Ferdinand Romualdez said Lakas-CMD prefers Sara to run for president, but will support her decision regardless.

Albay Rep. Joey Salceda claimed that running for vice president is not an option for Sara and she has been considering a presidential bid since May.

Salceda noted that there are still issues within the ruling PDP-Laban party, making it unlikely for Sara to run under this faction.
