Sara ends voluntary quarantine, cleared by CHO

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte discontinued her voluntary quarantine on Friday after being cleared by the city health officer.

Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, CHO chief, concluded that Mayor Duterte was not at risk based on a review of CCTV footage showing Senator Gatchalian and a confirmed COVID-19 patient were far apart during their interaction.

On Thursday, Mayor Duterte had voluntarily entered quarantine after attending a lunch meeting with Sen. Gatchalian who later went into self-quarantine due to potential exposure.

Mayor Duterte expressed optimism about overcoming the health emergency and assured that the city government is preparing for possible influx of COVID-19 patients.
