Rush Camingao wins gold in Men Under-23 road race

Rush Camingao won the gold medal in the Men Under-23 road race of the PhilCycling National Championships for Road, finishing solo ahead of silver medalist Rking Roque by about 90 seconds on Thursday, February 27.

Camingao completed the 171-km out-and-back event with a time of four hours, one minute and 34.58 seconds in hot, humid conditions with strong winds.

Commissaires penalized Jude Gabriel Francisco for foul riding during the sprint to the finish, awarding Steven Tablizo the bronze medal as a result.

The race took place on national roads around Tuy, Balayan, Lian, and Nasugbu, with 30 out of the starting field of 123 riders failing to complete the course.

Organized by PhilCycling and supported by MVP Sports Foundation and Standard Insurance, the event recorded an average speed of 42.50 km/h during the race.
