OVP raises P17M for health workers' protective gear

The Office of Vice President Leni Robredo has raised P17 million for purchasing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) sets for health workers battling the coronavirus pandemic.

As of Tuesday, March 17, the first batch of 7,350 PPE sets were distributed to 490 frontliners in nine hospitals across Quezon City and Manila.

The fund drive has so far purchased 36,503 daily PPE sets for 2,433 frontliners, covering a period of 15 days.

On Monday, March 16, the OVP had raised P12.3 million, with P5.9 million from its current budget and P6.4 million from private donors and Kaya Natin! Movement.

The OVP continues to coordinate with DOH to prioritize hospitals in need of additional PPEs.
