Bicol under red alert for Tropical Depression Quinta

The Bicol region was placed under red alert status on Saturday in preparation for Tropical Depression Quinta.

Under red alert, all government agency employees are on standby for emergencies.

Regional staff conducted risk assessments of local government units based on PAGASA's forecast that Quinta would affect the area starting Sunday.

OCD is preparing measures to address potential lahar and mudflow from Mayon Volcano, as well as landslides in steep slope areas.
