LPA enters PAR, may become tropical depression

A low pressure area (LPA) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Sunday, October 18.

The LPA is located about 1,035 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes and its trough is already affecting parts of the country with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

PAGASA forecasts that the LPA may develop into a tropical depression within the next 48 hours while moving northwestward over the Philippine Sea towards northern Luzon.

The weather bureau advised the public to monitor updates for potential impacts on their areas.
