Rain or Shine advances to PBA semis, faces TNT

Rain or Shine secured a semifinals berth for the fourth consecutive conference by defeating NLEX, 103-92, in their PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup quarterfinals match on Saturday.

Coach Yeng Guiao expressed relief after the game, noting that Rain or Shine's effort and grit won them the match despite multiple mistakes and giving up 25 offensive rebounds and 19 turnovers.

Santi Santillan led the Elasto Painters with 24 points, nine rebounds, three blocks, two assists, and two steals, while Jhonard Clarito contributed a double-double of 13 points and 16 rebounds.

Mike Malonzo's key contributions in the fourth quarter helped solidify Rain or Shine's lead as they erased a 14-point deficit to shock NLEX.

Rain or Shine will face TNT for a best-of-seven series starting on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena, aiming to reverse their previous loss in five games against TNT.
