Quiboloy's lawyers file hospital arrest motion

The legal team for Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Apollo Quiboloy filed a motion for hospital arrest with the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159 on Friday.

Quiboloy and four subordinates, who have pleaded not guilty to charges including child abuse in both Pasig and Quezon City courts, are currently detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Quezon City.

The court's decision follows a motion by Quiboloy's legal team that he and co-accused Ingrid Canada be transferred to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Davao due to their existing medical conditions. While his four co-accused will be transferred to Pasig City Jail, Quiboloy must remain at the PNP Custodial Center pending resolution of his hospital arrest request.

Sen. Risa Hontiveros reported that additional victims, some as young as 12 or 13 years old, are willing to testify against Quiboloy in the Senate.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) indicated that an extradition request from the United States for Apollo Quiboloy may be coming soon.
