DA distributes P1.42B aid to Quezon farmers

On Tuesday, the Department of Agriculture distributed P1.42 billion worth of assistance to farmers and fisherfolk in Quezon province affected by typhoons and weakened by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The aid includes P177 million under the Cash and Food Subsidy for Marginal Farmers and Fisherfolk program, farm machinery worth P304 million from the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization, and various other interventions totaling around 80,000 beneficiaries in CALABARZON.

Agriculture Secretary William Dar emphasized the importance of continuous production and value-adding agri-business approach to support recovery efforts.
