QC, Mandaluyong enforce strict lockdown on COVID-19 clusters

Local authorities in Quezon City and Mandaluyong are strictly enforcing lockdown measures due to recent COVID-19 clusters.

In Quezon City, 23 areas are under special concern lockdown as of Monday, with six cases reported on Robina Street in Barangay Bungad where the lockdown began on March 13.

Residents in these areas are not allowed to leave their homes and those who work must undergo home quarantine or return home after the lockdown.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte confirmed that as of Friday, there were 2,639 active cases, with 19 specific areas under lockdown since March.

The city government is implementing targeted lockdowns in areas where infections are concentrated rather than entire barangays.
