Rep Rodriguez urges PRRD to call special Congress session

Cagayan De Oro City Representative Rufus Rodriguez urged President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday to call for a special session of Congress to approve a PHP1.3-trillion stimulus package aimed at addressing the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis.

Rodriguez emphasized that financial aid should be available as quarantine restrictions ease in many areas, and stressed that waiting until August or September would waste valuable time.

He cited constitutional provisions allowing the President to call for a special session 'at any time during a recess.'.
