PPCRV opens command center, expects 400K-500K volunteers for May 12 elections

The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) has opened its command center in Sampaloc, Manila, ahead of the midterm elections on May 12.

PPCRV spokesperson Ana De Villa Singson expects around 70,000 volunteers to work at the command center on election day and beyond, with an estimated total of 400,000 to 500,000 volunteers nationwide.

This year, PPCRV will include local races and partylist race audits in their unofficial parallel count due to advancements like QR codes and satellite internet for faster counting.

PPCRV opened a call center on Thursday, May 8, for those with election-related concerns, providing a hotline number (0919-057-PPCRV or 852) for assistance.

Comelec Chairperson George Erwin Garcia emphasized the importance of verifying information on social media and reminded voters that they can vote even without a national ID as long as their name is listed.
