PNP deploys 40K+ officers for Ligtas SUMVAC 2025

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has initiated intensified security measures named Ligtas SUMVAC 2025, deploying over 40,151 policemen nationwide to ensure public safety during the dry season from April 1 to May 31.

Under this plan, police visibility and patrol operations will be increased as part of the Enhanced Operational Concept of Managing Police Operations (E-MPO) Strategy to address expected surges in travel during long holidays and special events like Holy Week, Araw ng Kagitingan, Labor Day, and Flores de Mayo.

PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil assured the public that law enforcement officers will work tirelessly to keep communities secure throughout the summer season.

Police presence will be heightened at transport hubs, tourist spots, and major event venues to prevent criminal activities and manage traffic congestion during the influx of travelers.

Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption president Arsenio Evangelista praised the PNP's quick response in a recent road rage incident, highlighting the need for continued police visibility and checkpoints, especially with midterm elections ongoing.
