PNP: Granular lockdown areas rise to 844 then fall to 832

As of Wednesday, January 19, the number of areas under granular lockdown due to rising COVID-19 cases increased to 844 from 765.

By Friday, this number decreased slightly to 832 with 211 PNP personnel and 443 force multipliers deployed for security and adherence to health standards.

The affected areas are mainly in Metro Manila (233), Cordillera (210), Cagayan Valley (203), Ilocos Region (165), Mimaropa (19), and Western Visayas (15).

Local government units decide on imposing or lifting granular lockdowns based on reported infections, with the aim of containing critical zones within LGUs.
