PDEG seizes PHP50.35M worth of illegal drugs in January

The Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) announced on Wednesday that it confiscated PHP50.35 million worth of illegal drugs in January.

Seized substances included 6.04 kg of shabu, 530 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 150 pieces of marijuana seedlings, and 40 milliliters of marijuana oil, as well as 45,800 fully grown marijuana plants.

The PDEG conducted 68 operations, including 40 buy busts, two marijuana eradication operations, and one interdiction operation, resulting in the arrest of 87 drug personalities and 22 wanted individuals.

Acting chief Col. Rolando Cuya praised special operations units for their efforts in combating drug-related crimes.

Cuya emphasized the significant impact of these actions on disrupting illegal drug activities and contributing to a safer society.

The PNP DEG highlighted that coordinated efforts led to remarkable results in dismantling drug syndicates and disrupting the flow of illegal drugs, serving as a beacon of hope for a future free from their grip.
