PNP searches 50% complete for Quiboloy in KJC compound

The Philippine National Police (PNP) stated on Monday that fugitive televangelist Apollo Quiboloy remains inside his Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City, despite reports suggesting otherwise.

Vice President Sara Duterte had earlier suggested that Quiboloy is outside the compound, but PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo dismissed this claim based on information from monitoring equipment and informants.

Fajardo emphasized during a press conference at Camp Crame that the police are focusing on specific areas within the compound to locate Quiboloy and his hiding place, with searches now about 50 percent complete but delayed due to blocked access points.

On August 24, around 2,000 PNP members raided the 30-hectare KJC compound in an effort to serve arrest warrants for child abuse cases against Quiboloy and five others; one co-accused is already under custody while Quiboloy faces additional charges of human trafficking.

The PNP continues to appeal to Quiboloy and his associates to surrender voluntarily, citing assurances from Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil that Quiboloy's safety will be guaranteed if he surrenders.
