2 PNP officers in 40s die from COVID-19

Two police officers in their 40s died from complications related to COVID-19 on March 27 and April 2.

The first officer, assigned in Laguna, was listed as a person under monitoring (PUM) and died due to cardiac arrest. A post-mortem examination confirmed he had tested positive for the virus after his swab test results came back a week later.

The second officer, based in Metro Manila, experienced high fever while on duty on March 19 and was hospitalized immediately; his test result was positive for COVID-19.

PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa expressed condolences to both families and assured them of full financial support and social benefits.
