PNP chief: Cops can enter schools only upon request

PNP Chief Dionardo Carlos clarified on Monday that police assigned to schools can enter these premises only upon request by school authorities.

Carlos emphasized during his press conference that police personnel are instructed to maintain a presence outside the campus unless needed inside.

On December 6, face-to-face classes resumed in 28 Metro Manila schools as part of a pilot program initiated two years into the pandemic.

The PNP stated on Sunday they were prepared with a list of participating schools and deployment plans for police personnel.

Carlos reminded that while other schools had already started limited F2F classes since November, strict adherence to guidelines is crucial.
