PNP defends band performance at LSI stadium

PNP spokesman Bernard Banac defended the move to have a police band perform for thousands of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex over the weekend.

Banac said the police had to think of ways to cheer up LSIs wishing to return home through the government-sponsored transport program.

Despite guidelines against the spread of COVID-19, PNP musicians played wind instruments for the crowded stadium, pulling down their masks to play their instruments as shown in a Reuters photo.
