PNP reports 1,600 COVID-19 cases

As of Wednesday, July 22, the number of police officers who have contracted COVID-19 reached 1,600.

The latest data from the PNP showed that recoveries increased to 610 while the death toll remained at nine.

A total of 727 probable cases and 1,767 suspected cases are being monitored by the PNP Health Service.

Infected officers are mostly asymptomatic and undergo a 14-day quarantine followed by additional rest before returning to duty.

The majority of infections come from police personnel manning quarantine checkpoints.
