Pinoy seaman on Diamond Princess cruise ship responding well to nCoV treatment

A Filipino seaman on board the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan is responding positively to treatment for novel coronavirus (nCoV), according to Philippine officials.

As of Friday, February 7, the number of nCoV cases on the ship had climbed to 61, including 20 foreigners and 21 Japanese nationals.

The DFA confirmed that no additional Filipinos were among the new cases reported on Thursday, February 6.

Filipino crew members are receiving assistance from the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo, which includes food, medicine, masks, and other supplies.
