Bello apologizes to Dubai over OFW's mistaken nCoV death announcement

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III apologized to the Dubai government for mistakenly announcing that a Filipino overseas worker (OFW) died of coronavirus.

DOLE clarified on Friday that confirmatory tests conducted by the Dubai Health Authority showed the OFW did not die from novel coronavirus, but rather another cause.

Bello initially reported the death as due to 'coronavirus' based on preliminary information received on February 2, but later corrected this after receiving updated test results.
