Pacquiao: No PDP-Laban backing for Duterte's VP bid

Acting PDP-Laban president Manny Pacquiao on Friday stated that urging President Rodrigo Duterte to run for vice president in 2022 is not authorized by party leadership.

Pacquiao emphasized the party's current focus should be aiding the public during the COVID-19 pandemic rather than engaging in political activities.

Deputy Speaker Eric Martinez had earlier revealed some PDP-Laban members are circulating a resolution to encourage Duterte to run for VP.

Senators Aquilino 'Koko' Pimentel III and Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi also called on party members to prioritize battling the pandemic over politics.
