Philippines to see cloudy, rainy weather due to Habagat and LPA on Independence Day

The Philippines will experience cloudy and rainy weather on Independence Day 2025 due to the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and a low pressure area (LPA).

PAGASA forecasts scattered rains and thunderstorms over Batanes and Cagayan, with occasional rains in Metro Manila, La Union, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Palawan, Antique, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and parts of the Visayas.

The rest of Luzon and the Visayas will have scattered rains and thunderstorms, while isolated rain showers are expected in most areas of Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong southwesterly to southerly winds are expected over northern and western sections of Luzon, leading to moderate to rough seas.

Light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas will be forecast elsewhere.

The LPA located east of Calayan has a high chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours but is not expected to affect the country directly.
