Hot weather, high heat index in some areas

Warm weather will continue to prevail across most parts of the Philippines due to easterly winds on Maundy Thursday, April 17.

Dangerous heat index levels are expected in several areas including Dagupan City with a peak of 43°C, Pili and Cagayan reaching up to 42°C, as well as Metro Manila at 38°C to 40°C.

Temperatures will range from 25.0°C to 35°C across the country, with short periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms forecasted in some regions.

Scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are also expected in Eastern Visayas and Mindanao, including Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, and Bukidnon.

No low-pressure areas were monitored inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, with light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas affecting the entire archipelago.
