Philippines sees 23% rise in daily average COVID cases

The Philippines reported a 23% increase in daily average COVID-19 cases to 341 from April 10 to 16.

There were 2,386 new infections and 20 verified deaths during this period.

As of April 16, 91% of total admissions or 356 patients were in severe and critical condition, down from the previous week's 378.

ICU bed occupancy was at 12.3%, with 234 out of 1,900 beds occupied, while non-ICU bed usage stood at 17.4%.

At least 78.4 million or 100.4% of the country’s target population have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
