Philippines reports 34 new COVID-19 cases, total now 98

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 34 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), raising the total number in the Philippines to 98 as of Saturday.

Two additional deaths were also confirmed, bringing the death toll to eight.

Health officials are still verifying details of the new cases and possible additional cases.

The DOH advised limiting services at the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) after several health personnel were exposed to a confirmed case.

DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III urged the public to cooperate in mitigating the spread of the disease by practicing preventive measures and adhering to strict home quarantine if experiencing symptoms.
